Top 5 shows currently on TV....

In response to Scully's top five tv shows that are currently on, I wanted to take this opportunity to list mine as well and to reiterate how much I love Dilana (above) from Rockstar: Supernova. Anyway, my top five shows, sort of in a particular order:

1. Hell's Kitchen- (I could watch Ramsey call Sara a "stupid cow" all day)
2. Kyle XY- ABC Family Mondays, check it out.
3. Nightmares & Dreamscapes: Stories from Stephen King
4. Rockstar: Supernova- (Honestly, just DVR it and watch Dilana & Storm Large--the rest is pretty worthless. Although watching Saydra (sp?) convulse on stage is highly entertaining.
5. Stargate: Atlantis -I cannot stand the regular Stargate after season 8, but this spinoff has a Sar Trek:TNG-esque quality that I really like.

P.S.- Scully, I do agree that M.A.S.H. is a great show, you should make a list of your top five shows in syndication. I know Golden Girls will be on that list....

FYI- Golden Girls would NOT make my top 5 shows in syndication! (It might squeeze into the top 10...HA!)
TOP 5 SHOWS IN SYNDICATION:
1. MASH
2. X-FILES
3. SEX IN THE CITY
4. EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND
5. FUTURAMA (though this will be returning with a new season in 2008!)

Scully-

I forgot to tell you the best part of Kyle XY--Alex Krycek is in the show and he is just as shady as he was in the X-Files. Speaking of X-Files, I can't believe that scarred guy was Jeffrey Spender. How can you say the 9th season sucked...it's awesome!

Season 9 is NOT awesome. Have you watched the last episode? It's like they got to filming day and said, "Ok, where's the script?" and the script guy said, "OH, crap...I never really wrote one." So, they brainstormed for 15 minutes and pulled together every over-dramatic hyper-active idea they had to create a piecemeal pseudo-conclusion. As much as I wanted Scully and Mulder to be together in my head, I did not want to see it on the screen. The constant tension of knowing that it was somewhere on the horizon, but just beyond reach, was far more tantalizing. Seeing it actually happen just cheapened it. The show should have ended at the end of season 8 when Scully gave birth to William and Mulder came back. At least that would have left some things to the imagination. There's my rant on that. -scully

Actually, I have not watched the last 4 episodes yet because Netflix is being annoying. I had Season 9 Discs 5, 6, & 7 in my queue in that order and they all shipped the same day. For some reason (this always happens to me), Disc 6 & 7 arrived the next day and I have to wait 3 days for Disc 5. Therefore, I cannot watch them until Sunday. I will recant my previous statement if they suck ass, and I will clarify...season 9, before the last 4 episodes, was awesome. beyond that i will have to wait and watch.

well, then I'm glad I didn't give it away. I still did not like season 9 before the last episode. I just never liked Agents Doggett and Reyes. I thought the plots got sillier and the arc got too scrambled and the whole dynamic died after Mulder left. i have not watched a single episode from seasons 8 or 9 since they originally aired. maybe i should revisit them to see if i feel any different, but i doubt i will...

I agree with the fact that the 'mythology' with the supersoldier was lame and not progressed very well at all. It never made any sense to me why Mulder was hiding- they had wanted to kill him for years. Anyway, Doggett and Reyes grew on me (especially Reyes)and I still enjoyed the stand alone episodes. Plus, Mulder was in quite a few Season 8 episodes and directed a couple (David Duchovny) in Season 9. So he was not completely gone in any event.

this post will be replete with my final thoughts next week when I finish watching.

Definitely watch them again, I find that my tastes change as I grow older an (hopefully) wiser.

yes I know what you mean about the "in hiding" thing, especially after the entire Syndicate was wiped out. They were the ones most likely to off Mulder and with them gone his absence seemed unnecessary and his reappearance contrived at best. As the relationship between Mulder and Scully escalated it seemed more and more unnatural and not balanced. I still relish the earlier episodes and the great dynamics between M & S--especially through her abduction, bout w/cancer, etc. The kind of profound devotion written into those episodes has never been duplicated as honestly and naturally in any other show to my knowledge.

With one episode left, I must say that I no lnoger care if Dilana wins. She has proven to be kind of a dumbass. I can't stand Lukas, therefore I hope Tobi or Magni win.
